Barleycove Beach

This sandy beach is situated between two headlands on the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork and comprises an extensive dune system.

Barleycove dunes and marsh attract a lot of rare and protected plants. It is also home to rare bird species and is of ornithological importance. Visit www.npws.ie to get more information on this unique area.

Access

Take the N71 south from Bantry for 5 miles and then take the R591 towards Crookhaven. After Goleen you will come to a T junction. take the right which will take you to Barleycove.
