Christchurch - Mudeford Sandbank Beach

An isolated spit adjoining the ancient headland of Hengistbury Head, Mudeford Sandbank offers a sandy beach against a backdrop of picturesque beach huts and views of Christchurch Harbour and the open sea. Facilities include The Beach House Café & shop and public toilets. The harbour side of the sandbank is designated for watersports with the seaward side recommended for bathing. There is limited wheelchair access. Dogs are welcome on this beach all year round but must be kept under control at all times.

Cleaning and Litter

The beach is cleaned daily during the summer and at regular intervals during the winter.


Dogs are allowed but they must be kept under control. No dog bins are available.
