Highcliffe Beach

Christchurch, Dorset

A very attractive area of coast where breakwaters have created a series of cove-like sand and shingle beaches. Well known for body boarding and swimming. The Cliffhanger Caf with toilet facilities is located on the cliff top next to the large car park and offers great views to the Isle of Wight. There is a surfaced wheelchair route from Waterford Road to Chewton Glen. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between Groyne H8 and H11 between 1 May and 30 September, but are permitted on the gravel promenade if on a lead. Highcliffe Castle and Highcliffe village are both a short walk away.

Important! Tide times are for the nearest measurement point (Christchurch (Entrance)) and may not be accurate for this beach. You should not rely on these times for anything other than a broad indication of when the tide will be at its highest or lowest.

In particular, these tide times are not suitable for navigational use.

Accurate tide forecasts require complex calculations and detailed local information. If you intend to engage in any activity for which tidal information is important for safety reasons (including sailing, powerboating, diving, and surfing) then you should obtain professional data.
