Nature and Wildlife

The beach and dune land fall within the Magilligan ASSI and SAC. It is also a Local Nature Reserve. Boardwalks provide access through the dune land. Some interpretation signs and leaflets available on the flora and fauna of the area.

Limited parking available at beach entrance. Free managed parking on beach during peak season. Car park also available at Benone Tourist Complex - a short walk from the beach. Disabled parking available.

Cleaning and Litter

The beach is cleaned daily by the council in July and August and regularly during the rest of the year. both mechanically and manually.

Access

Benone is located 12 miles north of Limavady and 10 miles west of Coleraine off the A2 Seacoast Road.

Public Transport

The 134 bus passes close to the beach and the nearest train station is Bellarena. The 93 cycle route passes adjacent to the beach.
