Shakespeare Beach Beach

A long shingle beach set in a bay near Shakespeare Cliff. There are deep pools and a wavecut platform towards the cliff end of the beach. As the beach is reached via over 100 steps, it is not accessible for disabled visitors.

The beach is the responsibility of the Dover Harbour Board. Some volunteer beach cleans also take place. The beach occasionally suffers pollution from tar.

Access

Take the A20 going east from Folkestone (west from Dover) to Aycliffe (a suburb of Dover) and park in the on-street parking here. The beach is accessed via a footpath which goes through the subway under the A20 before turning left for 100 yards.

Public Transport

Buses run from Dover to Old Folkestone Road. Aycliffe - just north of the beach.
