Upton Towans Beach

Hayle, Cornwall

Upton Towans is part of the coastal stretch of sand dunes with a campsite behind, near Hayle. It is an open aspect beach which attracts moderate size surf. Upton Towans was the site of an explosives factory in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is hence alternatively known as Dynamite Towans. It's now a nature reserve.
